Houston Youth Hockey Group
Houston Youth Hockey Group is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a straightforward mission to grow the game of youth hockey in Houston and expand opportunities to allow children of all backgrounds the opportunities to experience hockey in Houston.
Our core values:
Engagement: Engaging with underprivileged local youth to provide new opportunities and leverage the sport of hockey as a catalyst to teach essential life skills and the core values of hockey: commitment, perseverance, and teamwork.
Growth: Working to increase youth hockey participation by targeting four-to ten-year-old boys and girls across the Houston Metroplex and concurrently working to diversify foster a welcoming environment for all by building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive game.
Our Programs:
Community Engagement Program:
The organization's main overall goal is to grow the game of hockey in Houston. Given that Houston is not a typical hockey market, challenges exist that impede its ability to grow the game that other hockey markets do. Due to limited ice availability, there is an increased cost in reserving ice time. The Community Engagement Program is designed to help introduce new players to the game of hockey while keeping kids active and healthy.
Community Awareness Program:
In addition to providing kids with dry land hockey equipment, Houston Youth Hockey Group envisions attending certain community fairs, festivals, and events that are financially possible to participate in. By attending these events, we raise awareness for our organization and raise awareness for youth hockey in Houston. These events allow us to fulfill our goal of interacting with local youth.
OUR OPERATIONS

Houston Youth Hockey Group is governed and operated by a board of directors composed of six individuals. Although independent directors govern our organization, we welcome feedback, suggestions, and opinions from directors of other programs and rinks.
